Today ends Lent 2015. It started on February 18th and it has been an interesting journey. I gave up ice cream, snap chat and something else that I'd like to keep between me and God for this website's sake. This is honestly my first time really participating in Lent. I've discovered that as I've gotten older and have really developed a strong need of God, that Lent is completely necessary for my* faith. Jesus did the ultimate sacrifice, so why can't I sacrifice something in return? So I did and during this period, I lost a lot of things. A lot of ties were cut. With thoughtful (on my end,) soul mates, to comfort at my job. Poof, things haven't been the same and though I have cried pretty much for 3 weeks straight, I'm so excited to share my testimony when it's all said and done.
I'm really counting on God this time around and that's all that He really wants from us.
The quote of the week on my whiteboard is "The art of being wise is knowing what to overlook!" That is such a blessing to me. This week I've been so much more calmer with what's been going on. I'm thankful for this time that I've grown closer to God.
Happy Easter!

This was such a transparent post! Totally refreshing...
I too gave up something near and dear to my heart for the Lenten period (chocolate) and was actually thankful for the experience. Everytime I had one of my typical cravings for something sweet, I was able to reflect on God and what it truly means to sacrifice as he and Jesus did for each and every one of us. Still having difficulty deciding what I'll do next year...
Lord willing, there is plenty of time to decide that later.
